Compassionate community hub
Compassionate Community Hub
Virgin Care and Banes 3SG, who represent 3rd Sector Organisations across Bath and North East Somerset, have come together alongside BaNES Council and the CCG to offer an advice and support hub. Compassionate Community is a BaNES wide movement which recognises that there are people and organisations supporting each other, can step in as and when needed, with actual or virtual support.
The Compassionate Community hub seeks to assist those who are self-isolating or shielding and those that are clinically the highest risk people in our community, who are in need of help. We have combined resources to ensure that, as a service, we are able to provide sustainable and appropriate responses to meet community needs. This includes access to over 2,500 volunteers recruited, checked and trained by 3SG.
A short triage process will ensure you can access the most appropriate service quickly.
The areas in which we can offer support via our Compassionate Community Hub are:
- Delivery of urgent supplies
- A friendly phone call
- Collection of medication
- Money matters and work
- Mental wellbeing (including loneliness, low mood, anxiety)
- Advice on keeping fit
- Housing issues
- Housing Advice
- Food and cooking
- Understanding public health advice
The telephone number is 0300 247 0050
This service will operate 7 days a week 9:00am to 5:00pm.
